CRITICAL REVIEW


          Graduate of the photo-video department from the National University of Arts, Vlad Nanca toys with the ready made object in a postmodern spirit. He creates instalments with the obvious intention to shock through their triviality and irony, led sometimes to blasphemy, by using commonplace objects or religious symbols. In an époque in which artistic languages intertwine, Vlad Nanca’s instalments, being three-dimensional, can sometimes be assimilated to sculpture but without having something from the actual action upon matter which the art of sculpture implies. His instalments and his actions are meant to be comments on issues drawn from the contemporary socio-political and cultural reality.
