As an artist of the youngest generation, Bogdan Rata became known even from the beginning of his activity through an unconventional approach unfettered by any cliché, of human anatomy and through the almost exclusive use of the latest unconventional materials in creating his signed works. Equally preoccupied by the human condition in any historical époque, but also by the present’s aggression on the contemporary man, Bogdan Rata also adds a strong protesting message to the created shapes. The sculptor managed to impose his art abroad, being considered one the new realism representatives. His contorted, hybrid shapes, often representing anatomical details, realized in polyester, synthetic resin or painted metal are strongly suggestive and they communicate their message directly to the viewer. Being also the author of some public forum works, made from industrial materials as well, Bogdan Rata adds prominent psycho-social connotations to his works.
