CRITICAL REVIEW

Ligia Seculici’s volumetric discourse is structured on the research and valorisation of anthropomorphic shapes, with a clear emphasis on the feminine body. The artist’s works are pages of a creation journal, in which we equally encounter ideas on deeply spiritualized states of the body, as in the works Prayer or The Hermit, or the disclosure of gender social constructs and their ridicule in feminist aura works, such as The Baby Making Machine or The Cloning of Adam’s Rib. The monumental works are an expression of thematic variation between the human proportions and the dimensions of the inhabited space, under the sign of the relationship between man and Creator.
