Ioan Pentelescu`s works are, no matter their dimensions, defined by a keen monumental trait. The ample forms, conceived in a generous spatial unfolding, show a peculiar grace. The grave shades accompany the structure of the works, whose vertical force enters a conceptual dialogue with the proximity, which they transform. The link between volumes and the issue of temporality is created in the means of their own mythology, as one can observe in works such as Copper Gate, The Gate of the Sun, or Copper Hourglass. Through the aesthetic value of his sculpture`s substance, Cristian Pentelescu establishes a personal method to capture and evaluate reality.
