Adrian Curcan’s sculptures represent the result achieved in a moment of perfect balance between opposite and complementary tendencies. At the same time, his works reveal ordered, rational aspirations, but also the pressure of inner, explosive energies that affect the coherence of volumes. This play of formative principles obviously modifies the monolith structure of the compositions, ensuring a certain transparency and a register of both emptiness and full. The successive changes from concave to convex and the other way round accuse a certain organic fluidity despite the unpredictable accents. Such plastic processes may be recognized in most of his works, despite all the differences between them, works either more sensible to the figurative construction, or evolving towards the limit of abstraction.
